Interested to make music and have a unique orchestra playing experience with us?

Founded in 1986, the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra is the sole premier community orchestra in Singapore and today represents the evolution of almost 20 years of musical tradition in the Lion City. The BHSO is dedicated to the cultivation of young local talents and provides outstanding instrumentalists the opportunity to perform repertoire not normally available through other music programs.

The BHSO invites applications from talented musicians to join the orchestra in music making. If you are proficient in an instrument and keen to perform in a symphony orchestra, then join us! Auditions are scheduled once every 2-3 months.

THe BHSO accepts all nationalities.

BHSO Audition Format

    A. Perform two short contrasting compositions or excerpts of both fast and slow tempi unaccompanied
    B. Perform the major scales, including chromatics and appegios
       (For percussionists: Scales on mallets & rudiment rhythm)
    C. Sight Reading with the orchestra
    D. Interview

We're basically assessing two elements: Commitment & Competency. So if you have what it takes to be a member of BHSO, then wait no more and register with us!

Rehearsal
Musicians attend weekly rehearsals at the Braddell Heights Community Club (BHCC) on Sundays from 3pm to 6pm.

Membership
As BHSO comes under the purview of BHCC, it is mandantory for regular BHSO musicians to register in the Community Club's membership which comes with a Passion Card. Membership is at SGD10 per THREE years. Passion Card priviledges are universal with all other Community Clubs'.
